How to contribute to our vision
This role is a new addition to the Data Models & Analytics team within the Process Digitalization unit, created to support the extended responsibilities for Cloud and AI capabilities at the Grid Technologies level. The rapid growth of Snowflake and Microsoft Azure platforms necessitates a senior expert to guide strategy and build out capacity. To address this need, the role focuses on three core areas: Strategic Cloud & AI Architecture, Solution Implementation & Modernization, and Stakeholder Engagement. This structure ensures the position drives high-level strategy, executes hands-on implementation of data and AI solutions for the global manufacturing network, and provides thought leadership to business stakeholders. Given the focus on architectural leadership, the ideal candidate will be a Pre-eminent Professional (P6 level) with deep expertise in designing and implementing solutions on Microsoft Azure and Snowflake. They must possess strong skills in Python, SQL, AI integration, and strategic planning, supported by a relevant technical degree and significant professional experience.
What You Need To Make a Difference
- 40% Strategic Solution Architecture & Design
- Translate business requirements from the global manufacturing network into scalable, secure, and future-proof cloud architectures.
- Design end-to-end data and application architectures leveraging Microsoft Azure, Snowflake, and modern AI/ML frameworks.
- Conduct comprehensive process and system analyses to proactively identify, define, and validate cloud and AI use cases.
- Recommend operational strategies and architectural plans that have a direct impact on business results, influencing leadership decisions.
- 40% Solution Implementation & Modernization
- Lead hands-on implementation of cloud architectures and data solutions for business domains such as production, sales, and finance.
- Implement and deploy robust Data and ML solutions, integrating AI services like Azure OpenAI into production data workflows.
- Drive cloud-based modernization initiatives for legacy systems and automate data flows across the organization.
- Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps) to ensure the efficient deployment, operation, and scaling of cloud solutions.
- 20% Governance & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a senior sparring partner and thought leader for Azure-based applications and the strategic expansion of Snowflake usage.
- Own the validation, documentation, and scaling of architectural designs and solutions across the organization.
- Communicate complex architectural concepts, strategic recommendations, and project outcomes to executive leadership and technical teams.
- Continuously optimize data, application, and value chains to contribute to a cloud-native and efficient organization.
Education
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Cloud Engineering, or a related field.
- Deep professional experience as a Pre-eminent Professional (P6 equivalent) in cloud architecture, with demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Azure and Snowflake.
- Business fluent in both German and English.
