The growing number of decentralized renewable energy sources is making reliable and stable grid operation increasingly challenging. Further the built out of new transmission infrastructure due to large load increase changes in the requirements on dynamic controls within the electrical systems.
Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS) help increase the reliability and stability of AC grids, improve transmission efficiency, and and facilitate the integration of large loads such as data centers. Siemens Energy supports customers around the world with innovative FACTS solutions to help them master the challenges of energy transitions. But we cannot do it alone! How You'll Make an Impact
- You will develop FACTS turnkey projects from the first idea in customers mind till successful signature. These projects can be several hundred million worth.
- Your primary responsibility will be technical sales STATCOM and E-STATCOM solutions with supercapacitors in the global market, with a particular focus on E-STATCOM in the USA.
- You will support customers in technical planning, giving customers technical insights on our technology, supporting them through consultative sales solving their grid stabilization problems together with our technical teams.
- You will carry out pre-qualifications and provide budget offers.
- You will prepare the sales strategy for projects including pricing.
- You will also be in the lead to negotiating and successfully close the contracts together with our commercial experts.
- Close cooperation with the engineering, tendering and project execution departments is essential to developing solutions tailored to customer requirements and establishing a strong basis for successful project development.
- Throughout the sales process, you will build and maintain relationships through frequent visits to decision makers at our customers worldwide. You will also cooperate with our regional organizations to provide local support and maintain close customer relationships.
- As a technical sales expert, you will also consistently monitor market development in the assigned sales area and maintain the project lists on an ongoing basis.
What You Bring
- Master's degree in electrical engineering or industrial engineering, preferably with a focus on high-voltage engineering.
- Long term sales experience in the turnkey electrical power transmission business or another EPC-related field involving business for large-scale energy projects.
- Technical knowledge in the field of FACTS, especially power electronics based STATCOMS will be an absolute plus. Experience in the field of supercapacitors is of an advantage.
- High‑voltage, control & protection or system‑design engineering experience, hands‑on control & protection commissioning will be an asset.
- Experience in technical consulting for transmission projects, e.g. electrical network studies, would be of an advantage.
- Willingness for international travel and visits to customers plant sites for up to 20%.
- Experience in leading teams across country borders.
- Comfortable in presenting in front of customers and internal top management.
- Proficient in English. Additional German skills are a strong upside.
