We are looking for a Photonic Design Engineer with a strong foundation in integrated photonics and hands on experience designing, simulating and implementing photonic circuits and components. Going beyond layout work: You will be tasked with translating device concepts into manufacturable designs, validating them through simulation and ensuring compliance with process design rules.
Activities
Responsibilities
- PDK and Process Integration:
Work with and extend existing foundry PDKs. Understanding process constraints, design rules and partner specifications and apply them effectively. - Photonic Design:
Design, analyze and optimize core photonic components such as waveguides, MMIs, Directional Couplers, Crossings, Filters. Perform device level simulations using EME FDTD and FEM solvers. - Layout and Code Review:
Create photonic circuits using programmatic design tools. Review and maintain design code to ensure correctness, hierarchical design, and good code principles for effective team collaboration - Design Validation and Optimization:
Implement component models into circuit simulations to evaluate device performance, identify sensitivities to design variables and optimize designs for fabrication tolerances and partner capabilities.
