- The opportunity to develop high-end FPGA-based systems for the professional broadcast industry
- Close collaboration between engineering and our in-house production team, enabling fast decision-making and efficient development processes
- A high level of ownership and influence over design quality, manufacturability, and production readiness
- A modern development environment with state-of-the-art measurement and test equipment
Activities
With a focus on high-speed PCB layout for embedded and FPGA-based systems, you will develop sophisticated hardware platforms for the professional audio and video broadcast industry while working closely with our in-house production team.
- Design and develop complex multilayer PCBs for FPGA- and embedded-based systems
-
Create high-speed layouts for FPGA interfaces, including:
- DDR3 / DDR4 / LPDDR memory interfaces
- High-speed SerDes interfaces (e.g., SDI, HDMI, DisplayPort, Ethernet)
- LVDS, MIPI, PCIe, and USB
- Collaborate closely with FPGA and embedded software/hardware development teams
-
Work directly with our in-house production team on:
- Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
- Manufacturing processes, PCB assembly, and testability
- Optimize PCB layouts for volume production, manufacturability, and product quality
- Perform and evaluate Signal Integrity and Power Integrity simulations
- Define PCB stack-ups, layer structures, controlled impedances, and power distribution concepts
- Ensure compliance with EMC, ESD, and reliability requirements
- Prepare and maintain manufacturing, assembly, and test documentation
- Support prototype bring-up, hardware debugging, and transition to volume production
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a comparable qualification
- Several years of experience in PCB layout design for FPGA- and embedded-based systems
-
Strong knowledge of high-speed PCB design principles, including:
- DDR Routing
- Differential pair routing
- Length matching
- Return path optimization
- Proficiency with PCB design tools (experience with Cadence Allegro is preferred)
- Experience with SI and PI simulation tools (e.g., Ansys SIwave and AEDT/HFSS, or equivalent)
- Solid understanding of FPGA architectures, I/O banks, clocking, and power distribution concepts
- Experience collaborating closely with manufacturing and production teams is highly desirable
- Knowledge of broadcast, video, or professional audio systems is an advantage
- Structured, quality-focused working style with strong communication skills
- Excellent English language skills; German and additional languages are considered an advantage
