About us

Optimus Search is excited to collaborate with a prominent company based in Jena, a recognised leader in the Semiconductor sector, specialising in micromechanical and optoelectronic components. The company works closely with clients on plasma processes and utilises laser-based analytical techniques to provide precise measurements. With a global team of around 800 employees, generating annual revenues of approximately 300 million EUR, the company operates from several locations worldwide, with four offices across Germany. The Jena office offers a tight-knit team environment, fostering both personal and professional development within its sister companies.

Tasks

  • You’ll play a key role in developing advanced equipment software based on a SECS/GEM-compatible framework using C#.

  • You’ll work closely with customers, taking ownership of interface optimisation and adjustments independently.

  • From time to time, you’ll support software commissioning processes, which may involve international travel (approx. 10%).

  • You’ll maintain continuous contact with customers and service technicians, providing technical support and resolving issues efficiently.

  • You’ll actively contribute to the design and implementation of innovative software concepts.

  • You’ll manage version control and documentation to ensure a structured and reliable development workflow.

Profile

  • A degree in a STEM discipline or a completed technical apprenticeship with relevant professional experience.

  • A proactive attitude towards learning new technologies and programming languages.

  • Confidence working directly with hardware and understanding of measurement methods.

  • A good command of English, essential for collaborating in our international team.
