As part of our large-scale SAP S/4HANA business transformation program, we are looking for a skilled Head of Master Data Governance (m/f/d) to lead the greenfield implementation of Master Data Governance processes.

• Act as the Business Process Owner for master data governance, ensuring alignment with business goals, regulatory requirements, and transformation initiatives within the business transformation program “ELEVATE”.
• Lead and mentor a team of Enterprise Data Stewards while collaborating with global and local data stewards and owners.
• Serve as the primary liaison for business process owners, IT leaders, and external system integrators on master data governance topics.
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to maintain consistent data quality and governance standards across the organization.
• Design, implement, and continuously improve master data governance processes, including data ownership, stewardship, lifecycle management, and role authorization.
• Ensure integration of governance principles into business processes and IT platforms, especially within the SAP S/4HANA environment.
• Lead the rollout and deployment of master data governance processes across multiple business units and regions, ensuring stakeholder readiness and adoption.
• Monitor deployment progress, resolve implementation issues, and sustain governance practices to ensure successful outcomes.
• Oversee data quality assurance by monitoring metrics, addressing anomalies, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
• Promote data literacy and governance awareness while recommending continuous improvements to governance frameworks and tools based on evolving business needs and industry trends.

• At least 10 years of professional experience in master data governance, master data management, or business process management in an international environment
• Proven success in developing and scaling enterprise-wide data stewardship and governance programs in complex environment
• Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing, cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment
• Strong understanding of master data management principles, governance frameworks, and metadata concepts
• Excellent working knowledge of SAP ERP, preferably MDG, and data management tools
• Experience with data quality management, metadata management tools is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented and structured approach
• Proactive, solution-focused, and collaborative working style with the ability to explain complex topics clearly and influence at all levels of the organization
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills, particularly in cross-functional and intercultural settings
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, good German language skills are a plus
