Application Engineer – Semiconductor Equipment Materials

As an Application Engineer, you will serve as the key technical interface between our European customers and our global engineering and manufacturing teams. This role offers you the unique opportunity to combine semiconductor technology, customer interaction, and business development to drive growth across Europe.

Activities

• Understand customer applications, specifications, technical challenges, and future requirements.
• Identify and develop new applications and business opportunities together with customers and Sales.
• Translate customer requirements into suitable Ferrotec products, solutions, and technical proposals.
• Support customer projects from initial discussion through sampling, testing, qualification, and production launch.
• Provide technical expertise during customer visits, quotations, and commercial discussions.
• Coordinate technical communication and project activities between European customers and our factories in Asia.
• Lead technical meetings and ensure clear alignment on requirements, actions, timelines, and deliverables.
• Build strong relationships with customer engineering teams and become a trusted technical partner.
• Support Sales in expanding business with existing customers and developing new accounts.

Requirements

• Degree in Materials, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience in application engineering, product engineering, technical sales, or another customer-facing technical role.
• Experience in semiconductors, semiconductor equipment, advanced materials, vacuum, precision engineering, or a related high-tech industry is preferred.
• Ability to understand technical drawings, specifications, test data, and manufacturing requirements.
• Strong customer and commercial mindset, with the ability to turn technical needs into business opportunities.
• Willingness to travel regularly within Europe and periodically to Asia.
