A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Global Commodity Manager, you will be part of corporate Global Strategic Procurement team (SE P DM), responsible for commodity strategy of "Semiconductors, Passives & PCBs". This field consists of active components (semiconductors) as main part and passive components and PCBs as secondary scope in our SE business.
Typical day for Global Commodity Management professional includes define/execution of commodity strategies, negotiation with suppliers, supplier relationship management, reporting, problem solving, supply chain risk mitigation as well as alignment meetings with internal/external x-functional team.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Ensure derive an appropriate commodity strategy for N-Tier Active , Passive and PCB components to build overall Strategy with Corporate Commodity Manager for Electronics
- Management of strategic supplier and stakeholder relationships across OEMs, distributors, and internal functions including R&D, Engineering, Commodity Management, and Supplier Quality
- Creation of end-to-end supply chain transparency for EMS business, ensuring material-level visibility across direct suppliers and N-tier scope for product and solution purchases
- Implementation of material productivity and cost optimization initiatives to maximize value contribution and achieve business targets
- Leadership of supplier relationship management, sourcing, contracting, selection, and supplier development, including market intelligence and risk/opportunity assessment
- Application of systems thinking to semiconductor and electronics ecosystems, enabling risk management, innovation, and value optimization for Siemens Energy products and OEM solutions
What You Bring
- University degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related technical or commercial discipline
- Several years of experience in strategic procurement or commodity management for active components, passive electronic components, and PCBs, or equivalent expertise in electronic component technologies
- Strong market knowledge of the electronics supply base and technology trends, including semiconductors, AI, and emerging electronic component technologies
- Expertise in procurement strategy development, multi-tier supply chain management, contract law, export control, and cross-cultural negotiations, combined with strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Excellent English communication skills; German language skills are an advantage
- Willingness to travel (~20%)

The SE P DM organization is responsible for managing 3rd party spend as well as developing procurement strategies of direct material fields that will allow Siemens Energy to maintain competitive position in marketplace and support company's vision to become the most valued energy technology company.
