Areas of responsibility include applying statistical and machine learning methods to discover hidden patterns and information that can be used to grow the business and support data-driven business decisions.

As a Data Scientist you will drive the value maximization of a data product along the entire product lifecycle with a motivated and agile team of Data Engineers, Data Analysts and Data Product Owners.

You will be responsible for:

  • Manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume and high-dimensional data to gain insights by using appropriate data analysis techniques, algorithms and programming languages in close collaboration with subject matter experts

  • Applying statistical methods (especially Machine Learning) to data to identify complex patterns in data and derive predictions

  • Creating machine learning models and applying appropriate metrics to measure and monitor the models

  • Formulating requirements for a necessary database to contribute to the operationalization of Machine Learning services and systems

  • Enabling more efficient or effective (business) decisions based on predictions through (partially) automated processes or qualitative optimization

Profil

Ideally, you bring the following skills and experience:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in statistics, mathematics, (business) computer science or a related field of study, or a comparable qualification (e.g., training in computer science)

  • Very good knowledge in the selection, application and optimization of machine learning methods for generating data-based predictions and decisions

  • Experience in using one or more machine and deep learning frameworks, e.g., scikit-learn, xgboost, Keras, and tensorflow

  • Very good knowledge of using appropriate metrics to measure and monitor the quality and performance of trained machine learning models, and confident in using machine learning lifecycle management tools e.g. MLflow, Azure Machine Learning or Amazon Sagemaker

  • Strong knowledge of one or more Data Science-related programming languages (e.g., Python, R, C++, SQL)

  • Experience using source code management tools such as Github Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps is a plus

  • Experience with cloud computing platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP is a plus
