Mechanical Engineer (m/w/d) - München

Summary:

Conducts system design and development for new or existing products or concepts. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams and contributing to the entire product life-cycle from conception to production in a fast paced, high-tech field within a stable and consistently growing technology landscape.

Tasks

• Perform complex product developments from conception to production phase

• Mechanical design of automated inspection machines, modules and components

• Create holistic 3D CAD design of machines and modules

• Translate requirements into specifications and develop solutions effectively to meet the requirements

• Design of Prototypes including Involvement in validation tests, evaluation of results and implementation of changes if required

• Create BOM structure in PDM

• Continuous improvement of existing products to enhance performance and efficiency, including BOM changes

• Handover developments to the manufacturing team and provide support during the introduction

• Design for manufacturability using both subtractive and additive manufacturing methods, such as metal sheet fabrication, CNC machining, and 3D printing

• Manage developments concerning budget, costs, and specifications

• Willingness to travel to customers and internal locations (approx. 5%)

Additional if experienced:

• Design and simulation of optical systems, including light sources and camera optics

Profile

Education:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field

Required Knowledge:

• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Creo Parametrics, Inventor) and PDM

• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to mechanical design

Required Experience:

• Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in mechanical design or a related field

• Proven experience in mechanical design in an industrial environment

• Understanding of manufacturing processes, materials and related design guidelines

Additional:

• Experience with optical system design and simulation for light sources and camera optics

• Multidisciplinary experience is a plus

• Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies

• Proficiency in German and English is required
