Junior Conference Manager for CESifo
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Conference Manager to join our team. In this role, you will support the planning, organization, and execution of international academic conferences and events. The position is full-time but can also be reduced to 30 hours if more suitable.
CESifo is a global, independent research network in economics, with more than 2,000 members from across the world. Our events are renowned for their high academic standards, topical relevance and international atmosphere. Collectively, our mission is to advance international scientific knowledge exchange about economics and economic policy, to strengthen the cooperation between the ifo Institute and LMU Munich, and to maintain Munich as a vibrant hub of economic debate in Europe.
In your new job you can expect...
- to assist in the end-to-end organization of conferences, workshops and other events
- to coordinate with scientific organizers, keynote speakers and participants from around the world
- to manage event logistics including venues, catering and accommodation
- to support budget planning and expense tracking
- to liaise with external and internal service providers involved in organization and execution (IT, Finance, Audiovisual, Facility Management)
- to handle participant registration through our conference tool
- to provide on-site support during conferences to ensure the smooth running of proceedings (occasionally outside regular working hours)
- to contribute to our social media activities
- to update and create short texts on the CESifo website.
You should have...
- a completed university degree (B.A.) or professional qualification with a project or event management focus
- excellent communication skills in English (German is a plus)
- outstanding interpersonal skills and a clear focus on customer service
- the ability to organize work efficiently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- a high attention to detail with a proactive, self directed approach to work
- a collaborative mindset that contributes to a positive team environment
- proficiency in MS Office as well as familiarity with online platforms such as Zoom
