Tasks
Purpose of the role
Focus on initiating and leading negotiations with wholesale market participants like large industrials and resellers. We are seeking a proactive individual who excels at identifying client needs and providing effective solutions on the German gas market, including cross-commodity solutions for clients who operate power stations.
Essential responsibilities

Build and maintain strong relationships with key market participants, including large industrials, suppliers, utilities and gas-fired generation facilities

Identify, develop, negotiate, and execute structured energy transactions with embedded optionality in the German market in close cooperation with our trading unit MET International and the local PFM & Operations team in Germany

Track record of negotiating and closing complex structured contracts for supply of gas to industrial consumers and resellers as well as operators of power plants

Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks, informing the origination strategy

Lead negotiations for origination contracts, ensuring favorable terms and compliance with company policies

Oversee credit risk and continuous position management of the origination portfolio

Manage the entire deal approval process with internal stakeholders, taking full front-to-end ownership of the implementation of new deals, products, and contract management

Work closely with the sales, operations, and finance teams to ensure seamless integration of origination activities with overall business operations

Provide regular reports on origination activities and market conditions
Profile

At least 5 years of experience in the energy sector, with a strong background in origination/ sale of complex products

Deep understanding of the German energy market, including regulatory, economic, and competitive landscapes

BSc/MSc degree in Business/Finance/Economics/Engineering or similar

Fluency in German and very good command of English language

Strong analytical, negotiation, and strategic planning skills, proficiency in market analysis tools and techniques is an advantage
