We are looking for a Cloud & Data Pipeline Engineer to join our growing DevOps team. In this role, you will play a key part in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines while contributing to the automation and optimization of our infrastructure. You’ll work closely with data engineers, developers, and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data integration, secure deployment, and reliable operations across our platform.
Activities
- Develop, test, and operate Python- and SQL-based ETL jobs to integrate customer systems (Postgres, MS SQL, APIs, files) with our platform.
- Collaborate on internal developer pipelines to improve developer experience and delivery speed.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of our next-generation data and deployment stack.
- Build and maintain GitHub Actions workflows for code quality, testing, and deployment.
- Containerize workloads using Docker and manage Kubernetes deployments.
- Write and maintain Terraform modules for Azure resources (e.g., Storage, Event Hubs, Functions).
- Ensure CI/CD pipelines are reliable, repeatable, and secure.
- Automate secrets management (Vault/Azure Key Vault).
- Set up audit trails within CI/CD pipelines.
- Contribute to data governance practices, including schema validation and access control.
- Monitor pipeline health and performance.
- Build dashboards and introduce alerting best practices.
- Develop runbooks and documentation for pipeline operations.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in DevOps, Data Engineering, or Cloud Infrastructure.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
- English proficiency (C1+); German is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Python for data integration and automation.
- SQL (preferably Postgres) — strong query optimization skills.
- Git, GitHub & GitHub Actions for CI/CD.
- Docker and basic Kubernetes fundamentals.
- Building, testing, and documenting batch pipelines and lightweight streaming solutions.
Preferred to have:
- Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or similar IaC tools.
- Exposure to observability stacks (Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Fluentd, Azure Monitor).
- Familiarity with Azure cloud services.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure AZ-900, Terraform Associate, CKA/CKAD) are a plus but not mandatory.
