The (Senior) Financial Analyst is responsible for owning all financial modeling, including long-term planning, valuations (DCF, multiples), and investor-facing models, for the deep-tech battery recycling scale-up, cylib GmbH. A key part of the role is to challenge data and assumptions from technical and business units to ensure model accuracy, structuring models to be transparent and scalable. This position works directly with top management to deliver clear KPIs and outputs that inform strategic and board-level decision-making.

Activities

The core tasks focus on financial modeling, strategic decision support, and accurate analysis within a fast-growing, technically driven environment.

  • Full Ownership of Financial Modeling:
    • Taking complete ownership of all financial models, including long-term planning, business cases, valuations, and investor-facing models.
    • Building, enhancing, and standardizing complex Excel models that include scenario analyses, sensitivities, and unit economics, ensuring full financial statement integration.
  • Analysis and Data Validation:
    • Translating technical and operational insights into sound financial logic and modeling assumptions.
    • Challenging data and assumptions provided by business and tech stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial models.
  • Strategic Support and Valuation:
    • Conducting valuations (DCF, multiples, comps).
    • Supporting strategic initiatives such as investment, pricing, and funding decisions (fundraising).
  • Reporting and Management Communication:
    • Structuring financial models to be transparent, scalable, auditable, and easy to update.
    • Delivering clear outputs and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to directly support management and board-level decision-making.
    • Collaborating closely with management and various departments to gather financial input and business drivers.

Requirements

  • You bring excellent Excel modelling skills, including complex formulas, structured logic, and full financial statement integration.
  • You have strong finance knowledge in areas such as DCF, multiples, forecasting, unit economics, and accounting fundamentals.
  • Your background is technical or quantitative, e.g., Industrial Engineering, Business Engineering, or Finance with a quantitative focus.
  • You can challenge assumptions, understand technical processes, and translate them into clear financial implications.
  • You think analytically and quickly, pay great attention to detail, and communicate effectively with non-financial stakeholders.
  • You already gained experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, or high-growth finance roles.
  • You work in a structured, reliable, and independent way, with a proactive mindset and solution-oriented attitude.
  • You are fluent in German and English.
  • Ideally, you bring automation or data skills (VBA, Python, SQL, or Power Query) and experience with engineering-driven or tech-oriented business models.
  • Familiarity with fundraising, financial KPIs, unit economics, or investor-facing materials is a strong plus.
