Airfreight Pricing Expert (m/f/d)

Permanent and full-time

   

Field of activity

With the establishment of the Airfreight Commercial Center concept, a globally aligned pricing process, universal formats and governance will enable DGF airfreight to support all customer segmentation from global to country level with the respective pricing demand which, includes from global pricing instructions for global bids to the Regional House of Pricing (HOP) for input collection from countries to business customer factor base for country flied and over the counter demand.

 

Country Airfreight Pricing responsibilities

  • Execute pricing for local and global RFQs
  • Validate adherence to standards & pricing instructions
  • Roll-up bid input into country response
  • Execute country-to-country pricing
  • Execute pricing campaigns
  • Execute selling rate catalogue MTS
  • Managing country lead bid’s
   

Key Activities

 

Overall

  • Drive competitive pricing from country perspective, i.e. stay on top of market developments
  • Adherence & compliance to Pricing Instructions, Pricing Strategy, level of aggressiveness & process
  • Adherence to IT automation tools e.g. Bid Management tool
  • Drive and support new pricing process, standards (e.g. T&Cs) and quality
  • Execute pricing campaigns (e.g. seasonal offers)
  • Provide pricing for BC growth on country level
  • Support BC growth and follow up with M&S on Up/Down traders in BC segment
 

HoP+ Region-to-Region Bids

  • Break down pricing instructions received from global and /or regional AFR Pricing Teams into instructions per bid contributor on CT-level
  • Engage & brief country airfreight procurement and gateways on pricing instructions, request input and ensure timely delivery
  • Follow-up on timely delivery
  • Check all pricing input for quality e.g.,
  • Completeness
  • Adherence to pricing instructions
  • Adherence to standards
  • Sanity checks (e.g. express rates cannot be lower than regular rates)
  • Roll/up received pricing input into country bid response and submit to respective regional ACC
  • Data Quality compliance
 

Country Bids

  • Qualify bids received, i.e. calculate, analyze and quantify business risks and exposures
  • Identify desirable wins based on existing and potential new business
  • Formulate a bid strategy for selected bids incl. solution design and value proposition, translate bid strategy and customer requirements into actionable instructions for Airfreight procurement and gateways
  • Check all received pricing input for quality e.g.,
  • Completeness
  • Adherence to pricing instructions
  • Adherence to standards
  • Sanity checks (e.g. express rates cannot be lower than regular rates)
  • Roll-up input received from country (e.g. procurement and gateways) into consolidated country bid response
  • Support bid/ tender owners by liaising directly with Customers during RFQ/RFP briefings, Q&A sessions before bid launch and follow-up after bid submission
  • Tender submission to customers on behalf of bid owners if required (e-submission, email, online uploading, etc.)

Your profile

  • Professional experience in operations/sales/pricing is welcome
  • Very good knowledge of Excel, confident use of formatting and formulas
  • Results-oriented work, ability to work in a team, resilience, flexibility and organizational talent
  • Deep knowledge of forwarding business and understanding of supply chain logistics
  • Proficient understanding of airfreight product offering
  • Strong project management skills paired with pro-active behaviour to stay on top of multiple deadlines for multiple bids in parallel
  • Good communication skills to properly engage with country procurement and gateways
  • Strong analytical mind ideally paired with ops experience to be able to quickly understand and challenge country bid input
  • Ability to work under pressure to cope with periods of high workload and tight timelines
  • Proven ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Deep knowledge of local airfreight market is desirable
  • Experience in working within a global organization is desirable
  • Knowledge of lean process and Six Sigma is desirable
  • Fluency in English (German is an advantage)
  • 3-4 years of experience
  • Experience with business intelligence tools and platforms
  • Experience applying Project Management skills and principles including scheduling, resource allocation, task dependencies and coordination
